During last decades the subject of complex product systems (CoPS) in latecomer countries has been remarkably considered by many scholars. However, investigation of technological learning and catching up in these industries from windows of opportunity perspective has been overlooked. Even the research works that employed the windows of opportunity perspective to expose phenomena such as catch-up cycles, does not distinguish between products and complex systems with consumer products with a mass production system. So, the present study uses a qualitative approach and a case study strategy to explore the opportunity windows in the gas turbine industry in Iran as an industry with complex products and systems. Moreover, this study compared the windows of the gas turbine industry in Iran with the 5 selected industries to identify similarities and distinctions among them. Our findings show that the sequence of opportunity windows in the gas turbine industry in Iran is as follow: the opportunity window for the domestic market, the opportunity window of policies, technology learning window instead of technology opportunity window, and the window of opportunity for the foreign market. Some parts of our findings can be explained by considering the technological and market regimes for complex products and systems.

The present study was conducted with an innovative approach and the integration of system dynamics with grounded theory to present a systematic model for commercial soft technology diffusion in the Iranian oil industry, and was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, the grounded theory was used and in-depth interviews with 19 experts who dominated in the process of commercial soft technology diffusion in the Iranian oil industry were carried out. As a result, a total of 785 final codes, 184 concepts, and 71 sub-categories were extracted. In the second stage, a systematic model of the system dynamics was used. The key variables of the system model were extracted from the first stage coding and a systematic model was developed in the form of 18 reinforcing loops and 4 equilibrium loops Subsequently, the stack flow model was formulated and after the validation of the model through the test of behavioral and sensitivity analysis, scenarios were generated and simulated. The model data was gathered through experts’ comments and the model was simulated for a period of 50 years from 2011 to 2061 The results indicate that the best priorities for improving the process of commercial soft technology diffusion in the Iranian oil industry are training, the establishment of an organizational structure, outsourcing and, ultimately, research and development.

Despite international sanctions against Iran's nuclear activities, radiopharmaceutical technology has made significant progress in recent years. This article intends to investigate the radiopharmaceutical technology innovation system in Iran using the approach of innovation engines. The present study is carried out using the mixed method in two quantitative and qualitative sections to evaluate all aspects of the system during the period of 1980-2017. The theoretical basis of this study is Source innovation engines. This was done in the qualitative section using the method of historical analysis of events and in the quantitative section using structural equation modeling technique. Then, according to the exploratory method, the innovation engine of the radiopharmaceutical technology innovation system was identified. According to the results of quantitative section, we found that the "structural engine" loops are formed, but according to the qualitative results, it can be resulted that the characteristics of the system in the structure engine are not fully consistent with the current situation. Therefore, the incomplete formation of the construction engine was accepted and accordingly, we presented policy recommendations for the complete formation of this engine.

Today, knowledge-based companies are the engine of the knowledge economy. Many of these Knowledge-Based Organizations (KBO) operate in a set of science and technology parks (STP), with infrastructure services, consultancy services, and financial support. Innovative performance is a combination of the overall success of the organization as a result of the efforts made to modernize and improve the various aspects of innovation in the organization. In this research, the effect of STP services on the innovative performance of KBO's was investigated. The concepts and model of research were defined by reviewing the literature. The research population in this research is KBOs in STPs of University of Tehran and Tarbiat Modares University. To collect data, a questionnaire was distributed among managers of the KBOs in STP. Data was analyzed by structural equation model. The results of the research confirmed all of the hypotheses and showed that the services of STPs (including consulting and infrastructure services, networking benefits and credit support) have a significant impact on the 4 dimensions of the company's innovative performance including product, process, market and organizational innovation

The R&D evaluation and the relation between the production of science and technology at the macro level of the countries have been limited due to the high volume of information and rapid rate of changes in this area. This research is aimed at understanding the relationship and performance of technology development in relation to science production activities across countries, which is a descriptive-applied research type. The goal of this study is to build a model using advanced algorithms that can predict the scientometric indicators based on the production of science in countries. Also, the effect of each of the scientometric indicators on the technology index was determined using the sensitivity analysis method of the neural network. The research method is CRISP-DM and the data were extracted from the SCImago Journal & Country Rank SJCR data base and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) during the time period from 2001 to 2015. According to the results, neural network has more accuracy and ability to model than the regression. The results of the sensitivity analysis showed that the most important parameter for scientometric indicators is H-index and the process of referring to the international papers. Policy makers can use the research results to identify the influential variables of science production that lead to the creation of technology

Today, innovation is considered as a vital principle for organizations in such a way that ongoing improvement of the organization innovation performance is one of the key factors in the survival of such organizations. Considering this objective, the present study investigated the impact of open inbound and outbound innovations on the performance of information and communication technology (ICT) organizations. The statistical population of the research was the companies active in the field of ICT in Tehran out of which 116 companies were selected. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. The results showed that the inbound and outbound, two open innovation variables, have positive and significant impact on the performance of the organization. The results show that outbound and inbound open innovation, and overall organizational performance explained 89% of the changes in innovation performance, but the share of open innovation is less than the other two variables. Also, the confirmation of the direct relationship between organizational performance and the innovation performance of ICT organizations is innovation of this study
