Abstract

Innovation ecosystem states that innovation through interactive networks occurs at different levels. The network has a wide range of stakeholders that are involved in the innovation process as part of the ecosystem of innovation. Considering the importance of the health sector and the importance of the role of biotechnology and the necessity of examining the formation and development of the innovation ecosystem, the purpose of this study is to examine the innovation ecosystem of biopharmaceuticals in Iran. Accordingly, at first, the dimensions of the innovation ecosystem were studied in the literature. Further, considering that the present research approach is qualitative, the content analysis of documents and deep and semi-structured interviews with the experts in this field has been used to analyze the data. As a result, the status of biopharmaceutical innovation ecosystem was identified based on Its entities, its relations and its main characteristics. Finally, some deficiencies and problems in the Formation and development of of biopharmaceutical innovation ecosystems and solutions for improving the situation were presented.
