This paper deals with Technology-based Business Diversification. In the past two decades, the alignment of Technology Strategy and Business Strategy has attracted the attention of academicians as well as practitioners from different segments of industry. It was recognized as one the most important research topics in the field of Strategic Planning and Technology Management. Although, corporations play an important role in the economy of countries, the focus of almost all of frameworks, models, tools and techniques developed in the field was mainly on single companies. In this paper, a theoretical framework has been proposed which explain how the strategy of diversification could be elaborated based on the corporate technological capabilities. Some contextual factors influencing Technology-based Diversification have been also identified and presented. The applicability of proposed framework is illustrated through an in-depth case study of TAM Company,one of Iran Khodro Group's main subsidiaries.
