The internal drivers of business model innovation have been introduced as a research stream. Not much knowledge about these drivers has been developed in developers of complex products. The aim of this study was to identify and explain the mentioned drivers with mixed methodology and with an exploratory approach. The statistical population of the study includes informed experts of the opportunities and challenges of developing complex defense products that have been selected using purposive sampling. In the qualitative stage, the triangulation approach (Library study, review of organizational documents and forming focus groups) was used to identify the mentioned drivers. 81 experts in the Level of policy enforcers and Supporters of the decision participated in 8 focus groups based on 8 dimensions of the business model of the relevant organizations. Thematic analysis method was used to extract important drivers. In the quantitative step, fuzzy Delphi method was used to reach group agreement. 26 experts in the policy-making level participated in two rounds of fuzzy Delphi. 54 Important drivers in 8 main dimensions in order of policies; Organizational leadership; Knowledge, research and technology; Production and operations; human capitals; Financial resources and assets; Network of partners and market and customers were identified.
